White Lotus System of Unarmed Combat / Throwing Skills

SONY DSCIn the White Lotus System of Unarmed Combat® the expression throwing skills is used to identify a specific key term within the system’s spoken language and written language. The expression throwing skills is also used to identify a specific category of art form skills and combative skills. In this system, throwing skills is defined as; “1. a specific group of art form skills used to symbolize the process of hurling an opponent’s body or parts of it. 2. a specific group of combative skills used in the actual process of hurling an opponent’s body or parts of it“. In the White Lotus System, the system’s throwing skills are segregated into six distinct categories; 1) Throwing Positions, 2) Throwing Actions, 3) Throwing Presentations, 4) Throwing Techniques, 5) Throwing Tactics, and 6) Throwing Strategies. An in-depth understanding of throwing skills can be achieved as one progresses from basic skill development, intermediate skill development, advanced skill development, to mastery.

Throwing Positions: is defined as; “a series of postures used in the process of hurling an opponent’s body or parts of it”.

Throwing Actions: is defined as; “a series of movements used in the process of hurling an opponent’s body or part of it”.

Throwing Presentations: is defined as; “a series of integrated postures and movements used in the process of hurling an opponent’s body or parts of it“.

Throwing Techniques: is defined as; “1. a series of integrated biomechanical skills and combative skills used in the process of hurling an opponent’s body or parts of it. 2. an expression that refers to real throwing techniques and deceptive grappling techniques“.

Throwing Tactics: is defined as; “a series of technical throwing skills used in the process of empowering, confusing, overwhelming, and/or incapacitating an opponent“.

Throwing Strategies: is defined as; “a series of technical throwing skills used in the process of protecting one’s self and attacking an opponent“.
