Attending Advanced Combat Workshops

In context with the learning process, every study, sub-study, lesson, and lesson step, serves as preparation for the next. Content taken out of context can be ambiguous at best. This is not to say that martial artists from other styles have to start at the beginning. They can start at any level they want provided that they understand what’s being stated in the first two sentences of this blog. As an educator, I discourage people from entering into a course, seminar, or workshop if I believe that the course content will be ambiguous to them.  However, I will take the time needed to encourage these same people to fulfill the dependencies needed to enter into the levels they seek to learn. Creating venues for seminars and workshops is not just about making money, it’s about helping people learn real things in a real way.

September Workshop Coming Up

The White Lotus Combat System will be conducting a series of seminars and workshops this month.  The focus will be on Basic Skill Development for Guarding & Striking on Friday night.  The weekend will also entail Intermediate, Advanced, and Mastery development levels.  Each level is important, and has an associated set of standards, which are tangible and measurable.  It’s through understanding the standards associated with each course, that a practitioner can quickly excel and gain effective fighting skills.

It’s important to remember that fighting is more than how much weight you can lift, or how fast your punches may be.  It’s even more than how big you are, or how scary you look.  Yes, there are more considerations than that.  It’s also important to understand that a certain number of considerations can actually demystify any combative event.  Not only can it help remove ambiguity and fear associated with these events, understanding these components will help you survive.  For more information contact Robert Graham.
